JAZZED @ OFCC / BOBBY BROOM TRIO
Bobby Broom Jazz Trio
A titan in the world of jazz, Bobby Broom and his Bobby Broom Trio brings the energy and soul of live jazz to the IPO stage in a way that only they can. Trio leader and namesake Bobby Broom has a HOF worthy resume littered with legends that he has played and collaborated with, including legendary bebop pianist Al Haig, Art Blakey, B3 master Charles Earland, jazz icon Miles Davis, tenor star Stanley Turrentine, trumpet legend Dizzy Gillespie, and New Orleans funkster Dr. John. On top of all this, Broom served as guitarist for the late, great Sonny Rollins for many years. The trio has released a string of critically hailed albums, including Stand, Song and Dance. The Way I Play, Bobby Broom Plays for Monk and the 2012 collection of inviting original tunes Upper West Side Story.

Founded in 2017, IPO violinist Brian Ostrega and pianist Stephen Uhl have been the powerhouse ensemble turning heads across Chicagoland with programming you won’t find anywhere else — eclectic, unexpected, and never stuffy. These musicians bring serious professional pedigree to every performance, teaming up to educate, entertain, and showcase the caliber of playing usually reserved for the big concert halls.
