Rising Star Showcase 2025

The Rising Star Showcase is a program designed to offer performance-ready music students from Chicago’s South Suburbs a chance to perform before a live audience. Past IPO Rising Stars have gone on to great musical success, with many securing collegiate music scholarships. A notable number of Rising Stars have also become accomplished, professional musicians after participating in the program.

Applications are accepted for solos (with or w/o accompaniment), duets, trios, or quartets.  Piano accompaniment is available upon request. Applicants must provide all contact and musical information along with a sample performance recording to be considered. A 45-minute virtual coaching session with a member of the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra will be scheduled with all students selected.

Applications for 2025 event are DUE NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 1, 2025.

ABOUT ILLINOIS PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA
Three-time IL Council of Orchestras “Professional Orchestra of the Year” (2020, 2010, 1990), Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra performs in Palos Heights, IL, is headquartered in Park Forest, IL, and is the only professional orchestra performing in the south suburbs.  The 2024/25 season marks IPO’s 47th season.

ABOUT THE FRIENDS OF THE IPO
“The Friends of the IPO” is a volunteer group that supports the orchestra by hosting several fundraising activities, helping with mailings, and other activities. One of the events they sponsor is the RISING STAR SHOWCASE, a program designed to offer performance ready music students in the South Suburbs a chance to perform before a live audience.
